City of Decorah Now Accepting Applications for FY2026 Downtown Economic Development Grant Program

 

Decorah, IA (May 13, 2025) – The City of Decorah is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the FY2026 cycle of the Downtown Economic Development Grant Program. A total of $100,000 has been allocated to support projects that contribute to the revitalization and economic vitality of Decorah’s downtown district.

The program offers financial assistance to property owners and qualified tenants undertaking exterior renovations and upper-story residential conversions within the designated downtown area. Eligible projects may include façade improvements, structural and accessibility repairs, and the conversion of upper-story spaces into residential units.

Grant awards are subject to a 3:1 applicant match and are capped at $10,000 for exterior improvements and $25,000 for upper-story residential conversions.

Applications must be received by 4:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025, to be considered by the Decorah City Council at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 16, 2025.
