Steyer Opera House
NRHP 1980
The auditorium is on the top floor of a three-story commercial block built in 1870 and expanded in width in 1875. The auditorium, including extensive tin ceilings and a curved surround balcony, was remarkably well-preserved long after its last use for opera. The space was sensitively re-purposed as a performance and meeting space in the 2000's during the renovation of the Hotel Winneshiek.
