Altfillisch was identified as architect for the Hauser residence in the newspaper (4/21/1938 DPO/DR) and the building is on his complete project list. Altfillisch’s project sheet describes this as a “Two story frame residence with full basement & attached garage–Open porch on East.” (If built in this way, the open porch must have at some point been enclosed.) This Colonial Revival wood-framed house has prominent and unusual arched-top wall dormers that fill the full two-story height of the facade.

The home’s second owner, Mike Harmon, was told that the Hausers had purchased Frank Lloyd Wright home plans that Altfillisch modified for their lot. Altfillisch’s project sheet notes an architecture fee of $250 for the home, with no note of using anyone else’s plans. Harmon left blueprints for the next owners, but the prints have disappeared.
