Decorah has provided municipal wastewater treatment service since 1916 when a septic tank and slow-sand filter were constructed for treatment of Decorah's Waste Waters. What are Biosolids?
Biosolids are an organic by-product generated from waste water treatment. They are rich in nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus and are used by farmers to enhance soil conditions. Plants need a compex mixture of nutrients, soil, air and water to grow. Read more about Biosolids.
